A month ago already friends from Amarillo came down to Houston on their vacation. It was so great to see them. These are people who we saw pretty frequently in Amarillo and who were, by far, our best friends while we were there. Sure, mostly we partied together, but it was always a good time! Darin and I looked so forward to seeing them and introducing them to Evie and the weekend lived up to expectations.
On Saturday they just came over to our place and hung out. We ate, drank and played dominoes. On Sunday we went to Galveston's Pleasure Pier. I am sure you're thinking, "What kind of place did they go to on a Sunday?!" but it's actually an amusement park, not a strip club. Seriously. Who named it "Pleasure Pier"?!?!?! Gross. But, I digress. We had a great time. Darin rode a bunch of rides and I hung out with Evie and whoever wasn't riding rides at the moment and chatted. After eating at Bubba Gump's, we walked down to the beach and dipped our toes. Evie seemed to really like it and it was fun to watch her experience the beach for the first time. We parted ways with our friends after the beach and have realized that it's actually a big "if" if we'll ever see them again! Darin may travel to Amarillo again for work, but I have no idea why I would ever have the need to go to Amarillo. Makes me kinda sad.

| Um...let me get a good look at you. Evie and Rudy. Darin met Rudy randomly when he got paired up with him while golfing. Thank God that meeting happened because it made Amarillo bearable and we met some really good people through him. |
